Istanbul University says it will provide meal scholarships to students in need for the 2026-2027 academic year. Applications opened on 2 October 2026 and will close at 23:55 on Thursday, 8 October. Students must apply only through the AKSİS module, and no physical document delivery is required.

Key facts

  • The meal scholarship is for students in need in the 2026-2027 academic year.
  • Applications began on Friday, 2 October 2026.
  • The deadline is Thursday, 8 October 2026, at 23:55.
  • Applications are accepted only through AKSİS.
  • No physical document submission is required.

What does this mean for students?

The scholarship gives Istanbul University students in need a time-limited support option, but they have to complete the process on time and upload the required documents correctly. The university says the application is completed in AKSİS, and the form does not need to be printed and delivered to the administration.

Students who received the scholarship last year must apply again for 2026-2027 because the meal scholarship does not continue automatically. If applicants fail to upload required documents, submit incorrect documents or make false statements, their applications will not be evaluated.

  • Application channel: AKSİS module
  • Deadline: 8 October 2026, 23:55
  • Important condition: a new application is required even for previous recipients

How do students apply?

Students log in to AKSİS with their username and password, open the “Meal Scholarship” listing under the “Application” module, fill in the form and upload the requested documents. The process is completed by ticking the confirmation box in the lower-left corner of the form.

Istanbul University says there is no need to print the form and submit it to the administration. Completing the application through AKSİS is enough.

What documents are required?

A certified population registry copy is among the mandatory documents. It must be obtained through e-Devlet via the “Population Registry Sample Document Inquiry” service, with the “Nüfus Aile” option selected. Documents obtained with the “Kişi” option will not be evaluated.

Income documents depend on the applicant’s work status: employed applicants need a current payroll slip or an e-Devlet document showing income/premium-based earnings; self-employed applicants need a tax return; retirees need the most recent monthly pension statement; and a document showing no SGK registration is required for a non-working mother or father.

Other required documents include a current student certificate for siblings enrolled in formal education, excluding open education programs; a current transcript for students in intermediate years; the ÖSYM placement results document for newly enrolled students; a current criminal record certificate; and photocopies of the front and back of the Turkish ID card.

What mistakes put an application at risk?

The university says applications will not be evaluated if the required documents are not uploaded, if documents are incomplete or incorrect, or if false statements are made. Students should check the document type carefully, especially when selecting the correct option in e-Devlet.
