Editorial Policy

The Uni Brief publishes evidence-first reporting for an international education audience. This policy explains how we select, produce, review and update our work.

Source and evidence standards

Articles must be grounded in identifiable source material. We prefer universities, public authorities, research institutions, peer-reviewed work and other primary or authoritative sources. A factual claim should not exceed what the available evidence establishes. We do not fabricate quotations, numbers, dates, people or events, and we do not turn uncertainty into a false consensus.

Editorial value

A published article should add clear value beyond repeating a source announcement. That value may include context, implications for students or applicants, definitions, comparisons, confirmed next steps and links to related coverage. Search phrases never take priority over accuracy or natural language.

AI-assisted production

Our newsroom uses MakeNews tools to support source collection, evidence-linked drafting, translation, structured metadata, images and distribution. AI-assisted output remains subject to our editorial standards. Automation may not invent missing details or conceal uncertainty. When evidence cannot support the required depth, the article should remain concise and be held for review rather than padded.

Multiple languages

The main edition and its translations share one story identity. Translations should preserve the same facts, section structure, source links and editorial image. Headlines, summaries and phrasing are localized for clarity, but the meaning may not be changed. When a valid translation is unavailable, the language selector should not send the reader to an unrelated page.

Images and accessibility

Editorial images must be relevant to the story and must not misrepresent a real event. The same approved image is reused across language editions of one story to avoid duplicate storage and inconsistent presentation. Images receive descriptive alternative text when they convey information; purely decorative images use an empty alternative attribute.

Independence and conflicts

Advertising, sponsorship and affiliate relationships do not determine our factual conclusions. Material commercial relationships should be disclosed. Editors and contributors should avoid assignments where an undisclosed personal or financial conflict could affect the work.

Review and updates

Stories involving safety, immigration, finance, policy or other high-impact decisions may require additional human review. We show publication or update dates where useful, monitor significant developments, and apply our Corrections Policy when a material error is confirmed.
