NYU Meyers sets a month of gratitude activities in November

Published: 3 min read

Date:

NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing is marking Gratitude Month throughout November with a series of campus events designed to help students, faculty, staff and the wider community pause, say thank you and recognize the people who support the college. The activities run from Sunday, Nov. 1 through Monday, Nov. 30 at 433 1st Avenue in New York.

Key facts

  • Gratitude Month runs all November, from Nov. 1 to Nov. 30.
  • Events are listed at 433 1st Avenue, primarily in the First Floor Lobby and Lower Level Lobby.
  • Coffee and Cards takes place Nov. 2-4 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Thank-a-Donor Day is scheduled for Nov. 9 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • An Appreciation Station will be open Nov. 16-20 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

How can NYU Meyers community members take part?

Anyone in the NYU Meyers community can stop by the listed lobby events during the scheduled times to write notes of gratitude. The activities are open to participation across the month, with Coffee and Cards, Thank-a-Donor Day and the Appreciation Station each offering a different way to recognize classmates, faculty, staff, donors or other important people.

The most immediate practical step is simple: show up during the event window that fits your schedule. Cards, coffee and snacks are provided at Coffee and Cards, while Thank-a-Donor Day gives participants a chance to write to a donor and spin a prize wheel for NYU swag.

What happens during Gratitude Month?

The month-long program includes three featured activities. Coffee and Cards runs Nov. 2-4 in the First Floor Lobby, where participants can write notes to a faculty or staff member, a classmate or another special person in their life. Cards, coffee and snacks will be provided.

Thank-a-Donor Day follows on Nov. 9 in the First Floor Lobby. Participants are invited to write a thank-you note to an NYU Meyers donor whose generosity supports students and programs. The event also includes a chance to spin a prize wheel for NYU swag.

Later in the month, the Appreciation Station will be open Nov. 16-20 in the Lower Level Lobby. Visitors can write a message of gratitude and post it on the wall to help create a visible display of thanks.

Why is the college highlighting gratitude now?

NYU Meyers says gratitude is central to its community because taking time to express appreciation strengthens connections in the present and reflects the long-term impact of the college network. The college links that message to the support, generosity and mentorship that help shape its future and extend after graduation.

In practical terms, the events create a shared way for students and other community members to acknowledge the people and contributions that sustain the college. They also offer a low-barrier opportunity for people to participate during a busy academic month.

Where and when are the events?

The activities are centered at 433 1st Avenue in New York, with events taking place in the First Floor Lobby and the Lower Level Lobby. All listed programs are scheduled between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., except for the overall month-long event listing, which runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day in November.
